Sherrone Moore is showing off his recruiting chops in his first full recruiting cycle as Michigan football coach.
Moore and the Wolverines entered National Signing Day with a top-eight recruiting class. On Wednesday, they elite offensive lineman Ty Haywood to the program. Haywood had committed to Alabama on July 14, 2024, but backed off his pledge to the Crimson Tide in December, opting not to sign during the early signing period. He made an official visit to Ann Arbor, Michigan, on Jan. 17.
Haywood was the top unsigned recruit left in the country entering National Signing Day.

Haywood announced he would sign with the Wolverines at a ceremony at Ryan High School in Denton, Texas, where he is a student. According to 247Sports Composite rankings, Haywood is the No. 39 player in the 2025 recruiting class, the No. 6 offensive lineman and the No. 10 player in the state of Texas. Haywood, listed at 6-foot-5, 285 pounds, also held offers from Georgia and Michigan, among others.
Haywood is the 24th commitment for the Wolverines in their 2025 recruiting class. Michigan is ranked No. 6 in the country, trailing only Ohio State and Oregon on the 247Sports Composite rankings in the Big Ten.

Michigan football 2025 recruiting rankings
Michigan’s 2025 recruiting class entered National Signing Day ranked seventh nationally and third in the Big Ten, behind only Ohio State and Texas. It jumped Auburn to climb to No. 6 after Haywood’s addition. The Wolverines have 24 commits, including two five-star recruits and 15 four-star recruits.
