
Paige Bueckers left a lasting legacy with the UConn Huskies, recently leading the women’s college basketball team to a national championship.
Bueckers played her final college basketball season in the 2024-25 window and achieved the ultimate goal with head coach Geno Auriemma.

In her last season at UConn, Bueckers helped the Huskies blow out South Carolina 82-59 in the national title game.
Before defeating Dawn Staley and the Gamecocks in the national title game, UConn also earned victories over Arkansas State, South Dakota State, Oklahoma, USC and UCLA.
Following a phenomenal season at UConn, Bueckers has been announced as the winner of the 2025 Honda Sport Award.
According to Maggie Vanoni, Bueckers is the first Husky to receive the award since Breanna Stewart in 2016.
During her final season with the UConn Huskies, Bueckers posted 19.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game.

She posted similar career averages, recording 19.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game during her four-year career with the Huskies.
The Honda Sport Award is presented to the top women’s athlete in each of 12 collegiate sports. Bueckers was essentially named the most outstanding women’s basketball player in the country.

Following an incredible year with the UConn Huskies, Bueckers was selected with the No. 1 overall pick by the Dallas Wings.
She’s now working through the transition into the WNBA, having recently played her first preseason game. In a 112-78 loss to the Las Vegas Aces, Bueckers posted 10 points, four rebounds and one assist, playing 23 minutes in her first preseason game.
