After ending January on a slump, UConn women’s basketball star Azzi Fudd came into February on a heater and was crowned the Big East Player of the Week on Monday for the third time this season.
It was the fifth time Fudd has won Big East Player of the Week in her career, also marking the 10th win for a UConn player in 2025-26. The Huskies have won Player of the Week six consecutive times since Jan. 12 with four wins by All-American forward Sarah Strong and one from sophomore guard Allie Ziebell preceding Fudd.

Fudd averaged 21 points per game shooting 51.6% from the field and 54.5% from 3-point range across UConn’s pair of Big East victories last week. She dropped 25 points on four made 3-pointers in the Huskies’ 86-40 rout at DePaul on Wednesday for her highest-scoring performance of conference play, also adding three steals and two assists. With Strong out for rest against Butler on Sunday, the redshirt senior guard powered the team to an 80-48 win logging 17 points plus four assists and three steals without a single turnover.
Fudd is averaging career highs in nearly every statistical category this season with 17.4 points, three assists, 2.4 steals and 2.6 rebounds per game. She is also flirting with 50/40/90 shooting splits, currently hitting 48.9% from the field, 44.8% on 3-pointer and 94.9% at the free throw line. She ranks eighth in the country in made 3-pointers and 15th in 3-point percentage, and she has the second-highest percentage of any player with at least 70 makes from the perimeter.
The undefeated Huskies return to Big East play Wednesday when they host Creighton at Gampel Pavilion.
