The UConn Huskies (25-3, 15-0 Big East) continue in Big East action when they travel to Indianapolis’ historic Hinkle Fieldhouse on Saturday for a showdown against Butler at 4:30 p.m. The game will air live on SNY.
No. 5 UConn is coming off a 91-49 rout of host Seton Hall on Wednesday in New Jersey. That followed a massive statement win on Sunday at No. 4 South Carolina, a 87-58 romp. Against the Pirates on Wednesday, Paige Bueckers scored 23 points with nine rebounds and five assists. It was UConn’s 41st straight victory over Seton Hall, as it last lost to the Pirates on January 5, 1994.
Bueckers moved past Diana Taurasi into ninth place on UConn’s career scoring list with 2,166 points. Also for UConn, Kaitlyn Chen and Aubrey Griffin each had 15 points, Ashlynne Shade netted 14 points and Sarah Strong added 10.
Next up is another road game, this one at Butler. The Huskies, who have now won four straight since a Feb. 6 loss at Tennessee, defeated the Bulldogs on February 2 at Hartford’s XL Center, 101-59.
