Tsarukyan (23-3 MMA, 10-2 UFC) was rumored to face Charles Oliveira at this event, but the shocking recent death of his longtime teammate, UFC flyweight Allan Nascimento, is likely the cause of his withdrawal. Tsarukyan has long been considered the No. 1 contender after notching five-straight wins – including Oliveira.

Ruffy (14-2 MMA, 5-1 UFC) will compete in his first five-round fight. The 30-year-old is coming off back-to-back TKOs of Rafael Fiziev and former title challenger Michael Chandler. 13 of his 14 professional wins have come by knockout.
