UFC flyweight Alibi Idiris will be ineligible to compete until next February, and could have his most recent fight result overturned.
Tuesday, the UFC announced Idiris (11-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) has accepted a 12-month suspension after failing an in-competition test submitted to Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD) on Feb. 21. Idiris tested positive for hydrochlorothiazide, a prohibited diuretic in the Diuretics and Masking Agents class of substances on the UFC Prohibited List.

The test was administered on the day Idiris fought against Ode Osbourne at UFC Fight Night 267, which took place at Toyota Center in Houston. Idiris won the fight by unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27).
According to the CSAD statement, Idiris has been cooperative after being notified of the positive test result. He provided information that he took a product containing the banned diuretic in order to help him make weight for the fight against Osbourne. Despite his honesty, there will be no amendment to his 12-month suspension, which ends on Feb. 21, 2027.
Furthermore, Idiris could see his victory against Osbourne overturned. That decision will come from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR), which also lists hydrochlorothiazide as a banned substance. According to the statement, CSAD has provided TDLR with all information about Idiris’ case.
