UFC legend Georges St-Pierre getting Hollywood biopic

by

“GSP” is headed back to Hollywood … sort of.

Former two-division Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion and Hall of Famer Georges St-Pierre will soon have his life story told on the big screen, as Variety reported today (Tues., March 24, 2026) that a biopic centered around the MMA icon is officially in development.

St-Pierre confirmed the project and hinted that this won’t be your typical sports movie.

“We’ve been thinking about telling my story for a while,” St-Pierre told Variety. “When we found the right team, it became clear we wanted to approach it in a new, creative way.”

The film will trace St-Pierre’s journey from his humble beginnings in Saint-Isidore, Quebec, to becoming one of the greatest fighters in UFC history. Director Thomas Soto is attached to the project and aims to go beyond the public persona of “GSP” to showcase a more personal side of the man behind the legend.

“I want to tell the story of Georges behind GSP in a way that feels intimate, honest, and deeply human,” Soto said. “It’s a privilege — and a responsibility — to bring that to life.”

Soto’s previous work includes the short film Hold the Lighthouse and contributions to television projects such as Six Degrees and Still I Rise.

Casting is currently underway, with more details expected to be announced at a later date.

As for St-Pierre’s legacy — it speaks for itself.

The Canadian superstar is widely regarded as one of the greatest fighters of all time. A two-time Welterweight champion, he defended his title nine times before stepping away from the sport. He later returned after a four-year hiatus to capture the Middleweight title by submitting Michael Bisping at UFC 217.

He vacated the belt shortly after and never competed again.

If there’s any MMA career worthy of the Hollywood treatment, it is “GSP.”
