UFC London preview show: Is a win enough for Movsar Evloev, Lerone Murphy to get next title shot?

by

In a rare UFC fight where the top two contenders in a division battle it out in a main event, Movsar Evloev and Lerone Murphy should be set up to be shoo-ins for Alexander Volkanovski and the featherweight title with a win at UFC London. However, especially with the UFC’s head-scratching run of matchmaking, that doesn’t appear to be a guarantee. Will a win be enough for Evloev or Murphy to get their well-deserved championship opportunity, or will they have to — once again — sit back and watch somebody else get the shot?

Ahead of Saturday’s UFC Fight Night card, MMA Fighting’s Alexander K. Lee and Mike Heck preview the promotion’s return to London, the Evloev vs. Murphy headliner, how worried they should be about the UFC leapfrogging the winner with Jean Silva, and which fighter needs a win more between the two. Additionally, they discuss the co-main event between Luke Riley and Michael Aswell, how the card rates as a whole, other low-key storylines, and more.
