UFC Mexico City could have a weight-scale headache.
No. 7-ranked Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Women’s Bantamweight Ailin Perez is scheduled to face Macy Chiasson, the Season 28 winner of The Ultimate Fighter, at UFC Mexico City on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026, inside Arena CDMX in Mexico.

But Perez is making one thing crystal clear: if Chiasson misses weight, the fight is off.
In an interview with MMA Junkie, Perez didn’t mince words.
“I don’t see Macy beating me in any way or any area,” Perez said. “Not even on the scale, which by the way, I saw her, and she looks like she might not make weight. If she doesn’t make weight, I won’t fight, so she’s going to have to put in the effort…She didn’t make weight for her last fight, and the one before that, too, because she ended up doing a catchweight with Ketlen Vieira because she wasn’t going to make the weight, so she offered a catchweight.”
Perez’s warning isn’t unfounded. Chiasson is a big Bantamweight who has a checkered history with the scale, officially missing weight twice in the UFC and requiring catchweight bouts on two other occasions.

“With me, that’s not going to fly,” Perez continued. “I’ve been preparing for the last three months to first make the weight, and also to fight. So I’m not taking any excuses. She had a lot of time. I see her every day at the UFC PI, and I see she’s very big. I feel like she might not make weight. If she doesn’t make weight, I’m not fighting.”
Beyond the weight concerns, Perez also admitted she wasn’t thrilled with her matchup as she had other names above her she wanted to fight, such as Norma Dumont.
“We didn’t want this opponent because she’s very boring and ugly, but things happen for a reason,” Perez concluded. “A finish is coming, just like you guys saw in France.”
With Perez standing firm, UFC officials may have to keep a close eye on weigh-ins to ensure this bout actually makes it to the Octagon.
