Joe Pyfer is inching closer to UFC title contention.
In his latest step to the UFC middleweight title, Pyfer defeated veteran Abus Magomedov back at UFC 320 in October. After a shaky start where he had to survive a few submission attacks, Pyfer turned the tables on Magomedov in the second round. He dropped Magomedov, mounted him, and then took his back to sink in a rear-naked choke. It was an impressive win that put Pyfer at 3-0 since suffering his first UFC defeat in 2024.
