It’s better to be safe than sorry …
Irish Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Welterweight, Rhys McKee, finally notched his first win in the promotion at UFC Vegas 105 last night (Sat., April 5, 2025) inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, battering Octagon newcomer, Daniel Frunza, en route to a doctor stoppage.
UFC company officials confirmed to MMAmania.com that Frunza was transported to a local “Sin City” hospital after his loss for a precautionary CT scan of his head and face. Those results are unknown at this time.
However, he was stitched up inside the locker room prior to his trip (see that here).
Meanwhile, it was a big night for McKee for two reasons: “Skeletor” received a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus for his finish and, more than likely, saved his job.
Indeed, the 29-year-old snapped his two-fight losing streak, during which he dropped two decisions to Chidi Njokuani and Ange Loosa. McKee is on his second stint with the promotion and holds a 1-4 record inside the Octagon.
Frunza, on the other hand, snapped his five-fight win streak (all finishes in those victories). And although he lost his UFC debut, “Tigano” left a lasting impression of how tough he is and that he will have a fun UFC run.
