Kevin Vallejos may be a problem for the UFC featherweight division. The Argentinian up-and-comer looked sensational Saturday, needing just three and a half minutes to brutally dispatch longtime contender Josh Emmett in the main event of UFC Vegas 114 at the Meta Apex.
Vallejos (18-1) sliced open Emmett’s forehead early with a standing elbow then dropped the 41-year-old American with a lightning-quick counter right hand in the pocket. Vallejos immediately lunged on Emmett (19-7) with a barrage of punches, then sealed the deal with a salvo of big knees and elbows at the 3:33 mark of the opening round.

Vallejos ended the short contest with an absurd 43-3 advantage in total strikes.
“I have the utmost respect for Josh Emmett. I grew up watching his brutal knockouts. I’m not going to lie, I came in here with a little bit of fear,” an elated Vallejos said post-fight.
“Keep dreaming [Argentina], because you’re going to have a world champion.”
With his sterling performance, Vallejos, 24, cements himself as one of the most dangerous young talents in the UFC’s 145-pound division. He’s now 4-0 in the Octagon since arriving in early 2025 off the Contender Series, notching similarly eye-opening knockouts of Giga Chikadze and Choi Seung-woo.

Emmett, on the other hand, drops to 1-5 over his past six bouts. A one-time interim title challenger, the Team Alpha Male product appears to be nearing the end of the line.
In the night’s co-main event, Gillian Robertson (17-8) extended her strawweight win streak to five straight with a hard-fought unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) over Amanda Lemos (15-6-1).
“I have the most wins of any women, the most finishes of any women, the most submissions of any women,” Robertson said post-fight. “All I need is that belt.”
