by

Paramount+ has released viewership numbers for UFC Freedom 250, confirming that it was one of the most-watched MMA events ever.

Thursday, the UFC’s broadcast partner announced a total of 17 million viewers across the US and Latin America tuned in for the one-of-a-kind event on the South Lawn of the White House. It was the biggest exclusive live event in Paramount+ history, with an average of 8.2 million viewers. The figures were tracked by Nielson in the US and Adobe Analytics in Latin America.

The press release states the UFC will release viewership numbers outside of the US and Latin America sometime next week.

The total of 17 million refers to the number of unique viewers who tuned in for at least one minute during the broadcast. The figures do not include delayed or +1 viewership (viewers who watched on DVR within one day of the event).

UFC Freedom 250 featured seven total fights, all of which resulted in finishes for the first time at a UFC event. In the main event, Justin Gaethje pulled off a massive upset in a lightweight title unification bout by leaving Ilia Topuria on the stool after four rounds. In the co-feature, Ciryl Gane claimed the interim heavyweight title by finishing Alex Pereira with strikes in Round 2.
