The UFC has scrapped its original plans and instead will select just six or seven fights for the White House event.
Many fighters are clamoring to be one of the lucky few featured on the once-in-a-lifetime UFC White House card, and their chances of competing in front of the United States President have now been severely reduced. Initial reports claimed that six or seven title fights were to be on display on the White House south lawn, but a recent update suggests that may be all fans are treated to.

Dana White has spent months promoting the June 14 card as a must-watch event. White’s claims have been backed by several big-name fighters publicly stating their interest in representing the sport on the night, but it seems there are fewer spaces than first thought.
According to TKO CEO Ari Emanuel, the UFC will only host six or seven fights at the White House. Matchmakers are allegedly working hard to put together the best show possible, but a spot on the card is now being considered a luxury.
While appearing on The Pat McAfee Show, Emanuel shared an eye-opening update on the White House event.
“At the White House, I think 3,000-4,000 [people will be in attendance], and then there will be other areas [to watch the fights],” Emanuel revealed. “And Dana’s working on it right now.”

“There’s going to be, approximately, six to seven fights, June 14… He hasn’t said to us what the card is going to be, but I know they’re working pretty hard at it right now.”
While he isn’t confident about who will be competing at the UFC White House card, Ari Emanuel is sure fans will not want to miss this one.
“I don’t know who is not watching that fight [card],” Emanuel continued.
