UFC’s Alex Pereira is a ‘Butcher’ on the loose in ‘Onslaught’ trailer

If things go sour for Alex Pereira in nine days, at least he’s got a movie career to fall back on – maybe.

Pereira (13-3 MMA, 10-2 UFC), the former UFC middleweight and light heavyweight champion, will try to make history June 14 when he meets Ciryl Gane (13-2 MMA, 10-2 UFC) for an interim heavyweight title at the White House. A win for Pereira would make him the first three-division champion in UFC history.

This fall, Pereira will be on the big screen in his film debut in “Onslaught,” an action/horror/thriller movie from the prominent A24 studio. In 2025, A24 became the first studio in history to win the six biggest awards at the Oscars – Best Picture, Best Director and all four acting trophies.

That’s not to say that there’s Oscar buzz around “Onslaught,” in which Pereira plays the key villain: a super soldier secretly genetically engineered by the government. Naturally, things go sideways and “The Butcher” will need to be stopped before it kills everyone in its path. So Adria Arjona is there to save the day as a former sniper and mother trying to protect her family and home.

Pereira was cast in the role in late 2024, and filming took place in 2025, largely in Albuquerque, N.M., and surrounding areas. “Onslaught” is set for a theatrical release Sept. 4.
