Utah transfer Terrence Brown, one of the top combo guards in the portal, has North Carolina on his short list after the Tar Heels were among the first programs to contact him when the transfer window opened Monday.
According to Jeff Goodman of The Field of 68, the Tar Heels are on the shortlist along with Kansas, Kentucky, Oregon, Ole Miss and USC. Brown, ranked the No. 8 combo guard and No. 38 overall transfer by 247Sports, averaged 19.9 points, 3.8 assists and 2.4 rebounds for Utah last season.

He scored 25 or more points nine times, shot 45.3% from the field and 32.7% from 3-point range, and earned All-Big 12 honorable mention.
Brown’s ability to score and kick out to open shooters would make him a natural replacement for Seth Trimble, who excelled as a combo guard for the Tar Heels.
The 6-foot-3 guard posted a 27.7 assist percentage, up 6.4 points from the previous season, and that number climbed to 28.1 in conference play, eighth-best in the Big 12. He also has a knack for getting to the foul line, drawing 5.9 fouls per 40 minutes — 96th nationally — and attempting 204 free throws, making 77.5%.
