Nov. 29—Women’s Basketball:

USAO’s women’s basketball team has been turning around its 2-2 start with three victories in the past four games, with a win Tuesday at home.

This week, the Drovers beat UNT Dallas, 62-52, giving the Drovers their fifth win of the season. The Drovers have won three of their last four, with the win over UNT Dallas, Southwestern Christian and Nelson (Texas). The lone loss is at home against Texas Wesleyan by two points.

In Tuesday’s victory, the Drovers were led by guard Evangelia Davlakou, who dropped 22 points along with five rebounds and four assists.

Davlakou was the lone Drover in double-digits in points, but the Drovers were able to have a productive bench, getting 23 points from the non-starters against UNT Dallas, with guard Anna Kasim leading the bench with nine points and eight rebounds.

The Drovers will look to continue its almost-perfect November with a visit to 1-6 Oklahoma Wesleyan Saturday at 2 p.m. in Bartlesville.

Men’s Basketball:

Unlike the women’s team, the USAO men’s basketball team hasn’t had a good month, going 2-4, along with a loss this week.

The Drovers lost to UNT Dallas 71-64 Tuesday to fall to 3-4 on the season.

The Drovers had the lead for a majority of the game, having a 11-point lead with 10 minutes left in the game, but USAO was unable to hold the lead as UNT Dallas went on an 18-2 run in seven minutes to gain a big lead over the Drovers that they were unable to overcome.

UNT Dallas had four double-digit scorers, but had the game’s leading scorer come off the bench. Guard Greg Crawford scored 22 with 10 free throws and 11 rebounds.

For the Drovers, forward Manny Gatkek stacked up the statsheet with 12 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals.

The Drovers will look to get back on track Thursday with a road game at the College of the Ozarks that will tipoff at 7:45 p.m.
