USC football running back recruiting continues to enjoy a start to the offseason under position coach Anthony Jones Jr. On Saturday, the Trojans landed a commitment from four-star running back Shaun Alston. Alston announced his commitment at the All-American Bowl in San Antonio.
A native of Painseville, Ohio, Alston is the No. 133 overall player in the class of 2026, according to the On3 Consensus rankings. He is also the No. 13 running back, and the No. 5 player in the state of Ohio.
Alston announced his commitment at the annual All-American Bowl in San Antonio. He chose the Trojans over Big Ten foes Ohio State and Penn State.
With the addition of Alston, USC currently has the No. 2 recruiting class in the country for the 2026 cycle, per On3’s rankings. Only Oregon currently sits ahead of the Trojans.
With 11 months left to go until signing day, however, there is still a ton of time left for things to change. After back-to-back somewhat disappointing classes, it will be imperative that head coach Lincoln Riley and his staff finish off this cycle on a high note.
