USC posts video trolling Notre Dame following Mekai Brown commitment

by

In recent weeks, USC’s social media team has gotten a bit feisty following commitments on the recruiting trail. Notably, on two separate occasions, the Trojans posted videos trolling conference rival Oregon after beating out the Ducks for a recruit.

On Friday, USC picked up another big commitment, landing four-star edge rusher Mekai Brown. This time, the Trojans decided to take a shot at rival Notre Dame, who was one of the teams that they beat out to land Brown.

Previously, the Irish had put out a hype video entitled “Think Big”. The Trojans decided to remake the video and add some USC flavor to it, encouraging viewers to “Think Bigger”.

The trolling went beyond that, however. Part of Notre Dame’s video included a montage of Irish license plates. In USC’s version, in addition to several USC plates (including the famous “H8 Bruin” one), they also included several (presumably fake plates) trolling rivals Notre Dame and Oregon.

One of the license plates was from Indiana with the letters “WK ZRO”. In smaller letters in the corner of the plate were the words “Indiana the place where it’s not anytime anywhere”. This, of course, was a reference to Notre Dame reportedly rejecting USC’s offer to play their storied rivalry game in Week Zero, as well as head coach Marcus Freeman’s comments on the matter.

The montage featured also an Indiana plate with the letters “NOO CONF”, referring to Notre Dame’s refusal to join a conference. In addition, there was an Oregon plate with the letters “ZRO NAT”, a nod to the Ducks’ lack of any national championships.

As we wrote after the Trojans released their first such video, the trolling is fun and all, but only if they back it up on the field. If USC goes 8-4 this fall while Notre Dame and Oregon both make the College Football Playoff again, it would not be a great look for the Trojans. Of course, if USC’s football team is as talented as its creative team is, then the Trojans should go 12-0 in 2026.
