After taking down No. 1 UCLA on Thursday night, the USC women’s basketball team is back in action Sunday afternoon when the Trojans visit Washington.
Coming off the program’s first victory over a top-ranked opponent in more than four decades, the Women of Troy will certainly be looking to avoid a hangover game against the Huskies. In addition, USC will look to do something it failed to do on Thursday: Show up for all four quarters.
The showdown between the Trojans and the Bruins was really a tale of four quarters. USC dominated the first and fourth frames, while UCLA controlled the second and third.
Ultimately, the Trojans were able to come out on top, but it was far from a complete effort. In the second quarter, UCLA went on a 13-1 run, while in the third, USC made just one field goal.
Washington is a much weaker opponent than UCLA, with the Huskies currently sitting at just 5-8 in Big Ten play. If they can remain focused, it will be a great opportunity for the Trojans to play a full 40-minute game, especially on offense.
