Some people talk about how dedicated they are to the cause, and some people show with their actions how “all-in” they really are.
Utah Utes new head coach, Morgan Scalley, certainly falls in the latter category.

According to the University of Utah, Scalley is gifting a total of $2 million back to the football program in order to help support their growth and development in the coming years. Scalley has been on the Utes staff since becoming a graduate assistant in 2007 after his playing career, and he has worked his way up the ladder, spending time as a defensive position coach and defensive coordinator, until now.
“The University of Utah and particularly Utah Athletics have been an extremely important and influential part of my life for as long as I can remember,” Scalley said. “My love for this place includes a vision of where we can go and what we can achieve, and it will require an increased effort from everyone who shares in that vision. Liz and I simply wanted to do something for this amazing place that shows our faith in and commitment to the future of this incredible University, and how excited we are for what’s to come.”
While the release did not directly decipher what the money will go toward, it is safe to assume that a lot of it will be earmarked for roster-building, both in the transfer portal and prep ranks.

The Scalley era at Utah will begin at home against the Idaho Vandals to open the 2026 season.
