Valter Walker wasn’t impressed with Hamdy Abdelwahab’s second UFC win.
“The Hammer” picked up a unanimous decision win over veteran Chris Barnett in the preliminary card of UFC 321 – which took place Saturday at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. Walker (15-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC), who submitted Louie Sutherland on that same card, though Abdelwahab’s opponent wasn’t quality, and now wants to fight him.
“I want to fight next, maybe in November in Qatar with the Egyptian hammer,” Walker said in his in-cage post-fight interview. “He just win his fight. Hamdy. I want Hamdy in November, let’s go. You take down this Peppa Pig, this chocolate Peppa Pig, and you think you have wrestling? Let’s go. Show me. I’m ready, I’m here.”
Walker’s “Chocolate Peppa Pig” comments went viral online. When asked by reporters backstage at the post-fight press conference about how he came up with the callout, Waker elaborated.
“You see when he take off his shirt and go inside, and he look like Peppa Pig?” Walker said. “I have a daughter, 4 years old, and sometimes she watches Peppa Pig on the YouTube. Peppa Pig, he’s like pink, you know. He’s same Peppa Pig, but Chocolate. He’s same.”
Walker made history on Saturday by becoming the first fighter in the UFC to record four consecutive heel-hook finishes. He’s got mixed feelings with his new stat, but wants to take it even further.
“I don’t know if I’m very happy or a little bit upset because people now only think I can do this, like, ‘This guy don’t do nothing. He can only do heel hooks,'” Walker said. “I’m very happy because I did this again. I want to do this two more times. I want to bring six heel hooks because my country, Brazil, we have five world titles and I want to bring six feet to Brazil: six titles, six heel hooks. I already made history: first time in history four submissions in the heavyweight division and four heel hooks in a row.”
