Vanderbilt women’s basketball lost to Ole Miss on Sunday, and it doesn’t get any easier with the Commodores’ next game.
The No. 24 Commodores (18-5, 5-4 SEC) will take on Texas (22-2, 8-1) on the road Thursday, part of a stretch in which they will face the SEC’s top two teams in 10 days.
The sixth-ranked Longhorns have only lost this season to South Carolina and Notre Dame. Texas is led by the trio of wing Madison Booker (16.2 points and 6.4 rebounds per game), post player Taylor Jones (12.4 points, 6.7 rebounds) and point guard Rori Harmon (10.1 points, 6.3 assists).
Vanderbilt has the SEC’s second- and fourth-leading scorers with Mikayla Blakes (22.1 points per game) and Khamil Pierre (21 ppg). Pierre is also the conference’s second-leading rebounder at 10.2 per game.
