Pedro Munhoz, a seasoned face in the UFC’s bantamweight division, is looking to move on from the promotion.
The 20-10 (2 NC) veteran has fought inside the Octagon 22 times during his 12-year stint in MMA’s premier promotion.

Munhoz hasn’t had much luck lately, coming off three straight defeats and only managing one win in his last seven outings.

Pedro Munhoz has confirmed he’s in discussions to leave the UFC, announcing his intentions through a statement posted on social media.
The 39-year-old said he wants to take on new challenges outside the promotion, provided Dana White approves his request for release.
“Since 2014, I’ve been part of the UFC, building my name, proving myself, and showing what I’m capable of inside that octagon,” Munhoz wrote on Instagram.
“There comes a point in life when you don’t just stay comfortable, you take control of what’s next. Right now, I feel it’s time to take a new direction, explore different opportunities and focus on other important areas of my life. I’ve asked the UFC to release me and I’m currently in the process of becoming a free agent.”

Munhoz also made it clear that retirement isn’t on his mind just yet.
“I’m not retiring yet. Still hungry. Still focused. Still ready to put on great fights and make statements,” he added.

At that time, ‘No Love’ had recently lost the bantamweight title but was still seen as one of the top fighters in the division.
Other notable wins for Munhoz include victories over Rob Font, Jimmie Rivera, and Chris Gutiérrez.
The Brazilian fan favorite also faced off against several big names, including Marlon Vera, Sean O’Malley, Dominick Cruz, Jose Aldo, Frankie Edgar, and Aljamain Sterling.

If this is indeed the end of his time with the UFC, Munhoz will leave with a record of 10 wins, 10 losses, and two no-contests.
