A monstrous offensive line will certainly do wonders for most teams with talented ball runners.
That sure was the case Saturday afternoon in the HD All-Star Classic football game, which saw the Victor Valley squad pull off a 34-0 victory over the team composed of players from across the Antelope Valley.
The Victor Valley squad scored five rushing touchdowns, behind a towering line that included three NCAA Division 1 bound linemen in Apple Valley’s Jonah Leaupeptele, Granite Hills’ Abu Fofanah and Oak Hills’ Joseph James.
“This was too much fun today,” said Silverado running back Dallas Kincherlow, who scored a pair of rushing touchdowns. “This offensive line is too good, too big. It was fun to get in behind them, get small, get lost in there and take off.”
That offensive line also allowed Barstow quarterback Dwayne Williams to score a pair of rushing touchdowns and showcase just why he was voted the Desert Sky League’s Most Valuable Player.
Williams was also named the game’s MVP, receiving a $250 scholarship check at the 50-yard line following the action.
“It was so much fun to play with people from all different schools, having fun getting to know each other. At the end of the day, it’s all love and just football,” Williams said.
Defensive showcase
The Victor Valley squad didn’t give up much yardage to the Antelope Valley thanks in part to Oak Hills linebacker Jacob Macias patrolling the middle of the field. The Mojave River League’s Defensive Player of the Year came up with one of four turnovers for the Victor Valley squad.

Oak Hills accounted for three of the turnovers with Elijah Connor intercepting a pass and Nathan Cabrejo recovering a fumble. Victor Valley High School’s Bubba Matthews also intercepted a pass in the final minute to end the game.
“Today was a blast, just being able to run around the field doing whatever you want and playing some good football,” Macias said. “Playing in an all-star game, but Oak Hills really represented today. It was fun playing with my brothers by my side because we were some of the main ones making plays and the tackles.”
The offense
The Victor Valley squad got things going late in the second quarter as Talan Lively scored a six-yard touchdown and a 6-0 lead.
On the following drive, the Victor Valley squad faced fourth-and-10 and Williams connected with Silverado’s Sire Foster on a 29-yard pass a yard shy of the end zone. Kincherlow punched the ball in on the next play. They went for two points and Williams hit Silverado’s Jarmarri Tharpe for a short pass and a 14-0 lead seconds before halftime.
“They were my rivals over the years, but Silverado got some dogs, man,” Williams said. “But today we really put on for the DSL this year. We are all under rated compared to players from the MRL. This was our time to show that we could hang with them all.”
Williams showed off his playmaking ability in the second half with a 33-yard touchdown run and a 44-yarder in the fourth quarter, resulting in a running clock.
Kincherlow also broke off a 30-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.
“The whole DSL is full of dogs, a bunch of sleepers and I think today you were able to tell that,” Kincherlow said. “We good.”
