Things escalated between David Benavidez and David Morrell.
On Tuesday, Benavidez and Morrell nearly brawled it out in the ring after a media workout in Miami. Benavidez faced off with Morrell. The boxers immediately trash talked each other. Benavidez eventually had enough, so he put down his belt, and decided to shove Morrell. That ignited the skirmish between the two teams. Security stepped in and stopped things from further escalation.
Benavidez (29-0) and Morrell (11-0) are set to clash in a light heavyweight championship fight on Feb. 1 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The winner is expected to meet the winner of the undisputed light heavyweight championship rematch between Russian stars Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol.
