Zhang Weili continues to prove she’s the best in the UFC’s strawweight division. However, has she done enough to be considered the greatest of all time in the weight class?
This past Saturday, Weili (26-3 MMA, 10-2 UFC) completed her third consecutive title defense, outpointing and taking the undefeated status away from Tatiana Suarez in the co-main event of UFC 312. This makes the Chinese fighter one of the most successful to ever compete in the division, having beaten former champions Jessica Andrade, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Carla Esparza, and other notable names.
So how does Weili’s legacy fare against other strawweight greats such as Jedrzejczyk and Rose Namajunas? Can she be considered the strawweight GOAT?
MMA Junkie’s Brian “Goze” Garcia, Mike Bohn, Danny Segura and host “Gorgeous” George discuss Weili’s win over Suarez and where that puts her in strawweight history.
Watch their discussion in the video above, and don’t miss this week’s complete episode of “Spinning Back Clique” below on YouTube.
