Thursday night’s matchup between the Indiana Fever and the Las Vegas Aces pitted two of the top coaches in the WNBA against each other.

In the end, however, it was Stephanie White who outclassed Becky Hammon as the former led the Fever to a dominant 81-54 blowout win against a hapless Aces side.

The two coaches had a brief exchange right before the final buzzer, as the two shook hands and gave each other a warm hug on the sidelines.

It is unclear what was said between the two veteran shot-callers, but there’s no denying that there’s a lot of mutual respect there.

Both coaches were all smiles as well, with Hammon, in particular, in a seemingly good mood as she congratulated White for a job well done.

This was far from the case in Hammon’s postgame interview, though, as the two-time WNBA champion coach blasted her players for their effort in the loss.

“That’s a complete lack of professionalism to come here with that effort,” Hammon said after the game, via Michael Voepel of ESPN. “They played better yesterday in practice by a lot. I don’t know how you step onto the floor with 20,000 people in the stands and perform like that.

“It is the worst offensive night I’ve ever seen [since] I’ve been here in the last four years.”

The Aces have fallen to 8-9 after this brutal loss, while the Fever have improved to 9-8. This puts Indiana a full one game ahead of Las Vegas for the No. 7 spot in the league.
