Viktor Hovland’s disappointing 2024 appears to be ending on a painful note.
Hovland posted on Friday an image to his Instagram account that looked like a broken pinky toe.
“Bed frame 1 – 0 me,” he wrote.
Hovland was still listed on the initial full field for the season-opening Sentry, Jan. 2-5 in Maui, Hawaii. He is coming off a year in which he earned only two top-10s on Tour, though, both were near wins: PGA Championship (third) and FedEx St. Jude (T-2).
The Norwegian notably fought through swing changes in ’24, following a breakthrough campaign that saw him win three times, including the FedExCup crown. Despite his struggles, he is still ranked eighth in the world and qualified for The Sentry by finishing T-12 in the FEC standings.
