Per NextUpRecruits, Kevin Willard is getting a jump on his potential starting center four years from now. 6’11” freshman Mason Grivna, of Wildcat Select and Ballard High School, has been officially offered by Villanova, who joins schools such as Texas Tech, Arizona State, Ohio, Iowa and Virginia Tech having given an offer. NextUpRecruits is also reporting that Grivna has received interest from Clemson, Georgia Tech, Baylor, Illinois, Indiana, Purdue, Vanderbilt and Ohio State.
While the team still needs to solidify its center for this upcoming season, it’s good to see the coaching staff on the recruiting trail early and often. It was recently reported by NovaAlerts that 2029 guard BJ Williams will be taking a visit to the Main Line on June 3rd, while also sharing that fellow 2029 guard Harlem McNeal is garnering interest from the Wildcats. McNeal is the nephew of former Knicks great Allan Houston.
The high school recruiting landscape has changed a ton since the introduction of the transfer portal, but it’s still important for Willard and co. to keep a pipeline running. Hopefully the big man will select the Wildcats when the time comes.
