Welcome to the first MyCentralJersey.com’s Big Central Conference Readers’ Choice Football Player of the Week poll of the 2025 season.

Voting closes Thursday at noon.

A’rique Fleming, Elizabeth

The junior got the Minutemen off to a great start with a 42-7 win over Linden. Fleming was 12-for-14 passing for 272 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed for 48 yards and a score.

Fiheem Howell Jr., J.F. Kennedy

The senior had a big all-around game in the Mustangs’ 36-0 win over Perth Amboy. Howell rushed for 157 yards on 17 carries and scored on a 20-yard run. He also returned an interception for a 37-yard touchdown and added a 2-point conversion run.

Shaun Jackson, Sayreville

The senior had an explosive opener by rushing for 214 yards and three touchdowns in the Bombers’ 26-18 win over Colonia. He also had 90 receiving yards, including taking a short passing and bolting 61 yards for a score.

Sam Meekings, Voorhees

The senior quarterback completed 15-of-17 passes for 240 yards and three touchdowns as the Vikings started hot with a 39-16 win over Orange.

James Mongno, Hunterdon Central

The senior caught 11 passes for 161 yards and hauled in four touchdowns from Drew Cella in a 36-28 win over North Hunterdon. Mongno also scored on a 2-point conversion pass.

Alexander Schwark, Summit

The senior rushed for 227 yards on 14 carries and two scores as Summit erased an 11-0 deficit late in the third quarter to top Morristown 14-11. Schwark bolted for touchdown runs of 43 and 46 yards to lift the Hilltoppers.

Nolan Walsh, Bernards

The junior quarterback kept Bernards rolling in a 27-15 win over Cranford for the Mountaineers’ 26th-straight victory in the regular season. He finished 10-for-19 passing for 196 yards and four touchdowns and added 39 rushing yards.

Zymere Weaver, St. Thomas Aquinas

The sophomore smoothly ran the offense in the Trojans’ 56-3 win over Montclair. He finished 6-for-7 in passing attempts for 260 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed for another score (three rushes for 52 yards).
