It’s time to make your choice for the American-Statesman Austin-Area Girls Athlete of the Week for Dec. 2 through Dec. 7.
Anderson basketball player Brooke Fuller, who had 17 points and 5 steaks in a win over Incarnate Word, won the online voting for last week’s girls poll for Nov. 25 through Nov. 30. East View basketball player Jayden Prioleau won the boys poll vote.
We have seven nominees this week: all basketball players:
Nadine Benson, St. Stephen’s basketball
Benson, a freshman forward, is averaging 13.5 points per game as the Spartans have opened the season winning four of their first six games.
Madie Broxterman, Vandegrift basketball
Broxterman scored 24 points with seven assists and four steals as the Vipers beat Dripping Springs 64-33, then scored 17 points with six assists in a 68-38 win over Westwood.
Evie Bruce, Liberty Hill basketball
Bruce scored 22 points with 15 rebounds to lead the Panthers past Georgetown for the championship of the Jack Frost tournament.
Krystyne Dennis, Weiss basketball
Dennis is averaging 15.5 points, 11.3 rebounds and 2 assists per game.
Libby Lee, Glenn basketball
Lee scored 18 points to lead Glenn to a 55-43 win over Westlake.
Gabby Munday, Liberty Hill basketball
Munday scored 15 points in the Liberty Hill win over Georgetown and is averaging double digits scoring on the season.
Somo Okolo, Glenn basketball
Okolo scored 19 points in the Glenn win over Katy Seven Lakes and 17 more points in the Grizzlies’ win over Westlake.
