With the fall sports postseason underway, athletes from the Salem-Keizer athletes are making noise on the biggest stage.

Jay R Flores, McNary soccer
McNary senior forward Jay R Flores was named the Central Valley Conference player of the year after helping lead the Celtics to the CVC league title.
During McNary’s 5-1 win over Glencoe in the first round of the 6A state tournament, Flores netted a hat trick to send the Celtics to the state quarterfinals.
Trayton Futi, Sprague football
Sprague senior safety and wide receiver Trayton Futi grabbed two interceptions and also picked off a two-point conversion Nov. 8 to help the Olympians to a playoff win over Clackamas.
Kenya Johnson, Sprague football
Sprague senior running back and linebacker Kenya Johnson rushed for 203 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries, and also caught five passes for 84 yards Nov. 8 during the Olympians’ playoff win over Clackamas.
On the defensive side of the ball, Johnson also produced a big quarterback sack in the first quarter.
Daniel Kuenzi, Silverton football
Silverton senior linebacker Daniel Kuenzi was named the 5A Special District 2 defensive player of the year after leading the Foxes to an 8-1 regular-season finish and helping the program earn the No. 1 seed in the 5A state playoffs.
Kuenzi also earned first-team honors at running back after rushing for 484 yards and eight touchdowns on 77 carries (6.29 yards per carry).
Sawyer Teeney, Silverton football
Silverton senior quarterback Sawyer Teeney was named the 5A Special District 2 co-offensive player of the year after leading the Foxes to an 8-1 regular-season finish and helping the program earn the No. 1 seed in the 5A state playoffs.
In nine regular-season games, Teeney threw for 2,003 yards, 24 touchdowns and just one interception while passing at a 70% clip. He also ran for a team-high 488 yards and 10 touchdowns.
