After hosting four-star cornerback Censere Gaylord for an unofficial visit during Junior Day, the Washington Huskies became the first program to line up a return trip for the coveted defender on an official visit.
The 6-foot, 160-pound cornerback who began his career at Bishop Alemany in Southern California before transferring to IMG Academy in Florida is ranked as the nation’s No. 110 overall prospect and No. 13 player at his position by 247Sports, and recently narrowed his list of 29 offers down to six.

Cornerbacks coach John Richardson and the Huskies made his list of finalists alongside Georgia, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, Oregon, and Tennessee, and have sold him on defensive coordinator Ryan Walters’ aggressive mindset in the secondary.
“I really like how they develop their defensive backs at Washington,” Gaylord told Rivals’ Greg Biggins. “They let them play fast and aggressive in the secondary, and that’s my style as well.”
On film, Gaylord’s aggressiveness isn’t hard to find. He plays with great instincts and awareness, breaking quickly on throws in front of him before delivering big hits with impressive physicality on opposing receivers or getting his hands on the football. That skill set helped him tally 22 tackles during his junior season with 5 pass breakups, 4 interceptions, and a forced fumble.

During his visit, Gaylord will be on campus alongside eight other prospects as the June 5 weekend has turned into a massive slate for Jedd Fisch’s coaching staff. The IMG cornerback is the highest-rated prospect who has announced he’ll be in attendance, and will be flanked by priority targets like four-star defensive linemen Jon Ioane and Tevita Nonu, and four-star safety Isala Aisa Wily-Ava.
