WATCH: Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson breaks down CFP touchdown against Texas

by

The run the Ohio State football team went on to bring home the program’s ninth national championship was a memorable and special one that won’t soon be forgotten. The four-game Picasso was wrought with special plays and jaw-dropping highlights that will be hard to top in future seasons.

One of those moments game against Texas in what might be the most entertaining game the Buckeyes played during its run to beat four straight top-ten teams in the new 12-team College Football Playoff. It came at the end of the first half when it appeared the Longhorns had wrestled momentum away from Ohio State as the two bluebloods prepared to go into halftime tied at seven points each.

OSU did we see many teams do with the sands running out of the hourglass just before halftime and called a screen pass to see if it could get some yards or simply button it up and go into the locker room knowing that it would receive the kickoff in the second half. Sure enough, the screen pass went to running back TreVeyon Henderson who found a crease, followed his blockers and took it all the way to the house on a 75-yard catch and scamper to swing Uncle Mo back into the Buckeyes’ favor.

We haven’t heard from Henderson about what went through his head on that play and what it meant to him — well, until now that is. The former Ohio State running back offered up a breakdown of that play in a short interview appearing on the NFL’s social media pages. If you haven’t seen it, it’s worth it just to hear the electric back describe his thoughts and how it all unfolded.

What’s even more impressive is that Henderson was able to put aside a moment where he lost his cool earlier and hurt his team and get a little redemption.

The duo of Henderson and Quinshon Judkins meant a lot when it comes to how fresh and explosive Ohio State’s running backs were through the CFP, and judging from Henderson’s interview, this play and team meant a lot to him as well. We can’t wait to see where Henderson is taken in the upcoming NFL draft and we can almost bet we’ll see more plays like this from him at the game’s highest level.
