‘Welcome to Wendy’s. Would you like to try a Pinas meal today?’

The mainstream MMA world has only just started to learn about Damian Pinas, but in his home country one spot is ready to give him the push toward stardom.

Pinas, a 24-year-old middleweight from Aruba used a first-round knockout on DWCS last fall to get his shot at the UFC, and in February he came through with another first-round KO in his promotional debut in Mexico City.

Pinas (9-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) on Saturday returns with what will be his most high-profile fight yet. He takes on Cesar Almeida (7-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) on the prelims at UFC 329 (Paramount+) at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

He’s part of the undercard for Conor McGregor vs. Max Holloway, but in Aruba, the Wendy’s fast food chain has elevated him to the type of status normally reserved for those two headliners.

Pinas has his own combo meal at the restaurant, of which there are five locations on the island. The Wendy’s x Damian Pinas “Baba Yaga Combo” is a chicken tenders wrap, medium fries, a medium drink and Wendy’s Signature Sauce.

In addition, Wendy’s is running a promotion, and when customers add their name and number to a receipt after a “Baba Yaga Combo” purchase, they could win a chance to “train, meet and learn from The Baba Yaga himself.”

The Pinas meal will run customers 20 Aruban Florin, which is the equivalent of about $11 in the U.S. What say you? Who’s dropping $11 to get their mouths on a Pinas wrap?
