WICHITA — Kansas State basketball has one more chance to head into Big 12 play with some momentum.
The Wildcats (6-4) will try to snap a two-game losing streak against Wichita State (8-3) when the teams in-state rivals meet at 6 p.m. Saturday at Koch Arena. It will be K-State’s final nonconference test before playing host to Cincinnati on Dec. 30 for the Big 12 opener.
K-State and Wichita is wrapping up a four-year series contract with the Wildcats prevailing in the three previous matchups, winning 65-59 at Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita in 2021, 55-50 in Manhattan in 2022 and 69-60 last year at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City.
Wichita State has dropped two straight games after an 8-1 start, including a 74-64 decision at home Tuesday against UMKC. Justin Hill leads the Shockers in scoring with 14.1 points per game and assists with 3.3, while Corey Washington adds 12.2 points and 6.2 rebounds, Xavier Bell 11.4 points and Harlond Beverly 10.2 points.

For K-State, which is coming off a 73-70 overtime loss Tuesday to Drake in Kansas City, David N’Guessan averages 14.1 points and 7.0 rebounds, Brendan Hausen 14 points and Dug McDaniel 10.7 points with 5.0 assists.
