LSU women’s basketball and Kim Mulkey breezed through its first two games to tip off Southeastern Conference play.

While the final score against Auburn, 73-63, doesn’t reflect it, but LSU (17-0, 2-0 SEC) was up 25 points on Auburn heading late in the third quarter before they coasted the rest of the way.

Thursday night may very well be the first test for No. 4 LSU in SEC play as it’ll take its show on the road to Tennessee (13-1, 1-1) inside Thompson-Boling Arena. Since Mulkey has taken over the LSU program, she’s guided the Tigers to two straight wins in Knoxville and and a 3-1 overall record in that time frame.

But things will be different facing the Lady Vols as Kim Caldwell is now the head coach and she’s brought her run-and-gun system to the SEC.

Tennessee leads women’s basketball in scoring offense at 97 points per game. Five players average at last 10 points per game led by South Carolina transfer Talaysia Cooper at 17.8 points.
