BATON ROUGE – It’s Aneesah Morrow‘s turn for her homecoming game.
Earlier this month, LSU women’s basketball played Grambling State in Bossier City, Louisiana, the hometown of sophomore sensation Mikaylah Williams. Now, Kim Mulkey is getting her star senior forward to her home, Chicago, to take on Illinois-Chicago on Thursday night.
Morrow played at DePaul, located in Chicago, her first two collegiate seasons before transferring to LSU prior to the 2023-24 season. She hasn’t played in her hometown since she left the Blue Demons to play for the Tigers.
This season, Morrow has been on a tear as she’s collected 11 double-doubles in 13 games so far, the best mark in the nation. The 6-foot post player is second on the team in scoring at 18.2 points per game and averages 14.1 rebounds per game.

UIC (2-5) has had a slow start to the 2024-25 season but four of its five losses have been by 7 points or less. The Flames have been solid on the defensive end, holding multiple Power Four teams to 66 points of loss.
