The US LBM Coaches Poll No. 16 Notre Dame Fighting Irish is looking to keep its College Football Playoff quest alive while hosting the North Carolina State Wolfpack on Saturday.
The 3-2 Fighting Irish will be facing an upset-minded 4-2 Wolfpack club. The teams have met four times in the past, and the Irish are 2-2 against NC State.

Besides winning and staying in the playoff race, Notre Dame will be looking to see if a struggling defense, especially the secondary, can improve. That side of the ball showed flashes of improvement against Arkansas and Boise State, so the coaching staff will be looking for that to continue.

Notre Dame 31, NC State 21: This game has similar vibes to last week’s matchup between Notre Dame and Boise State, and I see it playing out the same way, though with NC State scoring more and penalties being a lot fewer and far between. I see Notre Dame’s offense doing enough to win, once again pulling away late in a game that starts out close.
