No. 2-seed Notre Dame got past a feisty No. 7-seed California, 73-64, Friday night in the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament in Greensboro, N.C., to advance to today’s semifinal round.
ACC Player of the Year Hannah Hidalgo led the Irish with 25 points.
The sixth-ranked Irish (26-4) will now advance to play No. 3-seed and 11th-ranked Duke (24-7). The Blue Devils beat Louisville, 61-48, to advance. Notre Dame defeated Duke, 64-49, back on February 17 at Purcell Pavilion.

Today’s other semifinal will be North Carolina (27-6) against top-seeded NC State (25-5) at noon. NC State barely escaped Georgia Tech, 73-72, in its quarterfinal matchup on Friday. North Carolina (27-6) defeated Florida State, 60-56, to advance.
