Poll: What Women’s World Record is Most Likely to be Broken at U.S. Nationals? (Vote Here!)
When the United States National Championships open on Tuesday, it will have been a little more than a month since Katie Ledecky (800 freestyle) and Gretchen Walsh (100 butterfly) set world records at the TYR Pro Series stop in Fort Lauderdale. With invitations to this summer’s World Championships at stake in Indianapolis, will any women’s world records be broken during action at the Indiana University Natatorium?
In this Swimming World poll, we’re asking readers to vote for the event they think is most likely to see a world record. The 800 freestyle and 100 butterfly are options, due to the recent record-breaking form of Ledecky and Walsh. But we’ve also made the 100 backstroke and 200 breaststroke options, due to the 100 back’s spectacular depth (highlighted by Regan Smith) and Kate Douglass‘ excellence in the longer breaststroke discipline.
Of course, readers can also choose another event by selecting the “other” option. Let’s see where a world record is most expected.
Swimming World is excited to provide full coverage of U.S. Nationals and readers can stay on top of the action by visiting our meet page.
