Star guard MiLaysia Fulwiley left South Carolina after two seasons and transferred to LSU last offseason. She’s averaging 14.1 points per game off the bench for the No. 5 Tigers (20-2, 6-2).
South Carolina beat LSU 66-56 in Columbia last year and the two didn’t meet again in the SEC tournament. It was the Tigers’ first loss of the season.
The Gamecocks are 21-22 all-time against the Tigers but 18-5 in the Dawn Staley era, including winning the last 17 meetings.
This year’s game is played on a Saturday, the only non-Sunday weekend game for South Carolina this year.
Coach Kim Mulkey took over LSU beginning in the 2021-22 season and won the national championship just a year later, defeating Iowa in 2023. Iowa beat South Carolina in the Final Four two days before.
