Notre Dame women’s basketball climbed just slightly in national polls after an overtime victory over No. 5 Texas last week and an easy win over Syracuse on Sunday in its Atlantic Coast Conference season opener.
The Irish moved to No. 9 in the USA Today Coaches poll and jumped to No. 8 in the Associated Press poll. Notre Dame was ranked No. 10 in both polls last week.
UCLA, UConn, South Carolina, LSU and USC are holding down the top five spots in both polls. UConn got eight first-place votes in both polls as well.
