Where LSU baseball sits in latest RPI rankings following South Carolina series

by

LSU baseball wrapped up its regular season with a series win over South Carolina on Saturday. The Tigers had to work for it after losing game one on Thursday night, but LSU avoided disaster with back-to-back wins.

Now, LSU turns its attention to the SEC Tournament. An SEC title would be nice, but LSU hopes it’s already done enough to secure a top-eight national seed in the NCAA Tournament, giving LSU the right to host a Super Regional.

When the selection committee gets together, RPI is a big piece of the discussion. So, where does LSU rank in RPI leaving the South Carolina series?

LSU ranks No. 8, one spot behind North Carolina and one ahead of Alabama. LSU sits one spot lower than where it entered the weekend.

The Tigers are right on the border of where it needs to be for the national-seed, but sitting No. 3 in the SEC with a 19-11 record in SEC play is a strong resume.
