Where Oregon commits ended up in latest Rivals300 rankings update

Any good program will tell you that stars don’t always matter. A good program and coaching staff can correctly identify the best fits for their team and get the most out of them. Still, stars and ratings in the recruiting world are valuable, not only to set the expectations for an incoming player, but to evaluate how the nation’s top talents view a program.

The Oregon Ducks have recruited well under Dan Lanning, and that has continued into the 2027 cycle. Rivals updated the Rivals300 rankings on Monday, and multiple Oregon commits saw changes in their placement in the rankings and ratings.

Four-star cornerback Ai’King Hall remains the Ducks’ highest-rated commit, holding firm at No. 39 in the latest rankings. The Ducks did see an improvement from four-star edge rusher Rashad Streets, who jumped from No. 61 to No. 47. Hall and Streets are the only committed Ducks within the top 100.

The Ducks also saw four-star cornerback Josiah Molden and four-star running back Cadarius McMiller hold firm at No. 157 and No. 175, respectively. Molden remains the top recruit in the state of Oregon.

The bottom half of Oregon’s recruiting class took a bit of a dive in the rankings. Four-star edge rusher Zane Rowe fell from No. 195 to No. 240, while fellow four-star edge rusher Cam Pritchett saw his rating drop from 90 to 89. Pritchett is not ranked within the Rivals300. Both Rowe and Pritchett are locked in with the Ducks, announcing the end of their respective recruitments last week.

Three-star offensive tackle Avery Michael, who also shut down his recruitment recently, stood pat with an 89 rating, but did not enter the Rivals300. Three-star athlete Sam Ngata, whom the Ducks have recruited at linebacker, saw his rating drop from 89 to 87.

The Ducks did see some movement from some key targets as well in the Rivals300 rankings. Five-star quarterback Will Mencl, who visited Oregon last week, fell from No. 4 to No. 13 in the overall rankings, but remains the top quarterback in the class. He is expected to decide between the Ducks, Auburn and Penn State at any moment.

Also, cornerback Donte Wright picked up his fifth star and landed at No. 14. He’s still committed to Georgia, but the Ducks have long been seen as a favorite to flip him. His recruitment has become a bit more clouded recently, however. Wright took another visit to Georgia over the weekend, while Miami and Michigan also joined the race.

Oregon still holds the No. 9 class in the nation, per Rivals, despite some of the movement in the rankings from its committed players. The Ducks could see a boost into the top-5 with a big list of visitors in town for Saturday’s spring game, some of whom could commit before the month is over.
