The South Dakota women’s basketball team is the last Division I basketball team in the state playing, and the Coyotes will host Pepperdine in the WNIT’s Super 16 today.
The winner will face either Montana State (25-7) or Portland (18-14) in the Great 8.

The Coyotes (23-9) beat Northern Colorado 80-60 in their first WNIT game on March 22. Pepperdine (19-12) has beaten UC Davis 71-68 and Southern Utah 85-80 to reach the Super 16.

South Dakota appears to be playing really well, and they get to host the Waves this time. Malibu is a far cry from Vermillion, even if it is a little warmer than expected for this time of the year.
The Coyotes are also playing for their careers, and I expect this team to have a little extra juice as they look to advance to the quarterfinals in what’s turned into a very winnable WNIT.
