The majority of Angel Reese’s 2025 season was filled with personal achievements. She averaged 14.7 points, 12.6 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game, earning her second consecutive All-Star nod.
With this brilliant performance, the Chicago Sky forward became only the third player in WNBA history to average a double-double in each of her first two seasons. However, these individual milestones couldn’t help the Sky end their campaign on a promising note.
They finished the year as a non-playoff team with a 10–34 record, one of the worst in the league. Off the hardwood, though, the “Bayou Barbie’s” life looks a lot different.

Also known as “Chi-Town Barbie,” Reese is dating Orlando Magic center Wendell Carter Jr. Carter confirmed the relationship during a Nov. 17 appearance on Run It Back on FanDuel TV. When co-host Chandler Parsons asked about those rumors, Carter claimed they’re locked in.
“That’s the homie for sure; we locked in,” Carter said with a grin on his face. Y’all are going to find out when y’all need to find out. We’ll just leave it at that. That’s my girl, though. We locked in for sure.”
A day later, the 23-year-old confirmed their status on X, penning, “Period, homie.”
They first linked in May 2025, when Carter attended Reese’s 23rd birthday party. In July, he showed his support at the WNBA All-Star Game by wearing a T-shirt featuring her face.
In December, she shared photos from the Orlando Magic’s home court. She wore a custom jersey with “My Man” on the back, while Carter stood beside her with his arm around her waist, confirming their relationship publicly. Before Carter, former Kentucky standout Cam’Ron Fletcher was in Reese’s life, who now plays for High Point University in North Carolina.
The Magic picked Carter as the No. 7 overall pick in 2018, which is coincidentally the same draft slot Reese was selected with in the 2024 WNBA Draft. He has been Orlando’s starting center since 2021 and is currently averaging 11.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game this season.
Reese, however, is now part of Team USA’s roster for the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2026 Qualifying Tournament. They face Senegal today in San Juan, Puerto Rico, with ex-LSU standout among the number of newcomers making their senior national team debuts alongside Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers.
