Teams are starting to punch tickets for the Sweet 16 in the Women’s NCAA Tournament and eight of those teams will be coming to Birmingham.
With the Round of 32 tipping off on Sunday, the list of teams, and later the schedule for the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight rounds in Birmingham will begin to get clearer.
The regional gets started on Thursday and Friday with Sweet 16 action with four games split between the two days at BJCC Legacy Arena, and Elite Eight action with a game each on Sunday and Monday.
The schedule will be set either Sunday night or after the Round of 32 concludes on Monday. The other Sweet 16, Elite Eight location is Spokane. The Final Four will be played in Tampa from April 3-6.
