With WNBA free agency underway, who are some of the top players available for the Indiana Fever to bring in alongside stars Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston?
The preface: the overwhelming hype around this free agency class stems from a swath of the league electing to become free agents entering the offseason, with the understanding that the new collective bargaining agreement would increase the league’s overall salary structure.

Instead of listing every player who could be a potential fit for the Fever, the WNBA has generated several graphics on X that list all the available stars for fans’ convenience (and sanity).
Names who made varying appearances on last year’s squad on the open market are Sophie Cunningham, Aari McDonald, Sydney Colson, Natasha Howard, Damiris Dantas, Brianna Turner, Aerial Powers, Shey Peddy, Bree Hall, DeWanna Bonner, and Odyssey Sims.
While all could theoretically find their way back on the Fever’s roster if the salary cap math aligns, IndyStar’s Chloe Peterson listed Sims, McDonald, Cunningham, and Turner among those the team likely seeks to retain from the above-listed 2025 players.

It’s worth noting that the Fever extended Kelsey Mitchell a core qualifying offer and Lexie Hull a restricted qualifying offer on April 7, which grants the franchise varying control over both players’ negotiation rights.
Per Spotrac on April 9, the Fever have $1.38 million of their $7 million salary cap allocated to Clark, Boston, and Makayla Timpson, leaving roughly $5.6 million to fill out the remainder of their roster. That number also does not include the salary impact of both qualifying offers to Mitchell and Hull should they accept.
With the 2026 WNBA draft on April 13, the condensed time frame for each franchise will only heighten the craziness of the next handful of days as the league races full speed towards its 30th season.
